Check Montague County VINELink

A Montague County VINELink inmate check can track one named person's custody status and register a release or transfer alert. County and state-prison notifications do not come from one universal record. VINELink serves participating county systems, while Texas corrections uses its integrated notification service for people in state custody or on parole. Montague County participation must be confirmed in the live county service. Search with exact identifiers, read each label with care, and verify a result with the agency that supplied it. A missing match does not prove that the person was released.

Montague VINELink Release Fields

Fields depend on the agency. Preserve its wording because released, transferred, and scheduled for release describe different events.

FieldMeaning
Name and identifierThe individual record, subject to identity comparison
Custody statusThe agency-supplied status label
FacilityThe last location reported
Booking numberA key for matching official records
Status-change dateWhen the source reports an event
TransferMovement to another custodian, not freedom

VINELink is an alert tool, not a certified record. Ask the sheriff for the event when an exact time, reason, authority, or destination is needed.

Register Montague Release Alerts

Registration starts on the correctly matched record. Options may include release, transfer, or another custody event by phone, text, or email.

  1. Select “Get notified” or its equivalent.
  2. Choose the offered event.
  3. Select phone, text, or email.
  4. Create the requested PIN or password and keep it private.
  5. Respond to the verification message or call.
  6. Save confirmation and keep contact details current.

The classic Texas workflow used a four-digit phone PIN. A 2014 publication also described county records staying in VINE no more than 90 days after release. That source is dated. Verify the live workflow and retention.

Confirm Montague Release Alerts

VINE warns that accuracy, timeliness, and completeness are not guaranteed. Note the timestamp and contact the custodian if the result affects pickup plans or the need to distinguish release from transfer.

For a Montague jail event, call 940-894-2871 and request the written transaction. For TDCJ, use its offender search and Parole Division channels. BOP handles federal sentences, while ICE has a separate locator.

Note: No match can reflect a transfer or data delay; it must never be restated as proof of release.

Montague TDCJ IVSS Notifications

A person transferred from Montague County into state prison has not been released. Once TDCJ is custodian, create an account at Texas IVSS, identify the offender, choose notifications, and keep contact details current. IVSS is free and covers changes involving TDCJ custody or parole supervision.

Help is available at 800-848-4284 or victim.svc@tdcj.texas.gov. The matched image shows the state search and notification entry point.

Open the official IVSS portal before reviewing the captured screen.

Montague Notification Support Routes

County VINE operator help is available at 866-277-7477. The Texas VINE number is 877-894-8463. These contacts help with service use, while the sheriff remains the source for its release event.

The Texas DPS Sex Offender Registry is separate. It covers only people with a legal duty to register. Absence does not establish that someone was never released, convicted, or supervised.

Notification records also have a different purpose from court records. A VINE event can flag a custody change, but the Montague court portal may explain the bond, dismissal, judgment, or other authority behind it. The sheriff record can then establish the booking event and recorded release time. These sources should be read together when the alert wording is too narrow to identify what happened.

Keep the confirmation number and the exact person identifier used at registration. If a later arrest creates a new booking record, check whether a new registration is required. Do not assume an old alert follows the person forever. Contact data must remain current, and a phone PIN should never be shared in a public message or record request.

When an alert says “transferred,” identify the receiving agency before searching again. A move to TDCJ calls for IVSS and the state offender search. A federal transfer calls for the BOP or U.S. Marshals route, while immigration custody points to ICE. The county system cannot certify events held only by those agencies.

Montague Release Verification Fallback

If VINELink produces no usable match, begin with the Montague County Detention Center. The 24-hour jail line can address immediate custody status. For a durable result, use the sheriff's open-records process and identify the person, approximate booking and release range, and booking number if known. Ask for the existing booking sheet, release date and time, authority or type, and destination agency when public.

Then check the court portal for the bond order, dismissal, judgment, or other case event. Judicial records follow their own access rules and do not use the ordinary county Public Information Act route. The clerk record can explain legal authority, but it may not prove the minute jail processing ended. Pairing it with the sheriff event avoids that gap.

If the jail identifies a TDCJ transfer, use the TDCJ search while the person remains incarcerated. It requires a last name plus a first initial, or a TDCJ or SID number. Optional filters include first name, sex, and race. Results may show the unit and projected release date, but the online tool is current-prison only and does not provide a discharged-person archive.

After a TDCJ result disappears, contact TDCJ directly. Public-information requests may seek incarceration history and status. If the alert instead identifies federal or immigration custody, use the agency named in the event. VINELink does not substitute for the BOP Inmate Locator, U.S. Marshals confirmation, or the ICE locator.

Montague Custody Inquiry Limits

The Montague sheriff's live inquiry is designed for people currently in custody. Its sampled detail included booking time, days incarcerated, charges, bond, arresting agency, county, and disposition, but no release field. A name leaving that inquiry cannot be converted into a release date. Historical daily custody snapshots can narrow the interval of change, yet the sheriff record is still needed to distinguish bond, time served, transfer, another hold, or a data issue.

When requesting that event, ask for existing records rather than asking staff to create a report or explain a conclusion. Include the name, date of occurrence, and a narrow date range. Delivery options on the sheriff form include pickup, email, fax, and certified mail. No flat fee is posted for the release record, so statutory cost rules and any agency estimate control. This written route is slower than an alert but gives a record that can be checked later.
