Verify Montague County Supervision

Montague County parole and probation records answer different questions after a person leaves custody. Parole follows a state prison term, while probation comes from a court sentence served in the community. A bond release alone proves neither status. To verify Montague County post-release supervision, first identify the court or custody system, then consult the state corrections record, the sentencing docket, or the proper supervising office. The result may show parole, mandatory supervision, community supervision, discharge, or no supervision at all. Each label has a distinct legal meaning and should be confirmed through the agency that maintains it.

Montague Parole and Probation Compared

Parole is conditional release from a TDCJ prison sentence. Mandatory supervision is another state-law release mechanism, and TDCJ Parole Division supervises both. Probation, formally called community supervision in Texas, is imposed by a court and managed locally by a Community Supervision and Corrections Department. A person may leave the Montague County Detention Center on bond while a case is pending. Bond terms are court conditions, but the release does not by itself place that person on parole or probation.

The distinction affects where records reside. The sheriff can document a county-jail release event, yet it does not decide state parole and may not hold the full probation file. The court judgment establishes a probation sentence. TDCJ and the Board of Pardons and Paroles maintain the state-prison review and release trail.

Parole
Conditional release after part of a prison sentence, with rules and supervision still in force.
Probation
A court-ordered sentence in the community, also called community supervision.
Discharge
Legal completion of the sentence or supervision obligation.
Absconder
A person whom supervision authorities allege has stopped reporting or cannot be located.

Verify Montague Post-Release Supervision

Begin with the type of custody that ended. A Montague jail release after bond points first to the court docket. A transfer into TDCJ points to the state offender record. Do not treat absence from the live county custody list as proof of parole, probation, or discharge.

  1. Confirm the full name, birth date, booking number, cause number, or TDCJ/SID number before comparing records.
  2. Check the sentencing case in the Montague judicial-record portal. Look for a judgment placing the person on community supervision.
  3. For a TDCJ case, use the Online Inmate Search. Read parole eligibility, projected or scheduled release fields as estimates or plans, not proof that release occurred.
  4. Before a parole vote, call the BPP status line at 844-512-0461. After a favorable vote, call Review and Release Processing at 512-406-5202.
  5. Confirm the assigned field office. Montague County maps to Wichita Falls, but that county map does not prove where one person must report.
  6. For probation, confirm the judgment and ask Montague County CSCD for publicly releasable office information.

A favorable parole decision still is not physical release. Program completion, release-plan review, certificates, detainers, and scheduling can remain. The state record and current custodian should agree before a planned release is described as complete.

Montague Supervision Office Routes

Two offices are locally relevant, and they do not have the same jurisdiction. TDCJ's county cross-reference sends Montague parole and mandatory-supervision questions to the Wichita Falls District Parole Office. Court-ordered probation is handled by Montague County CSCD in the courthouse annex.

Montague Supervision Warrants and Violations

Conditions vary by the judgment, release certificate, and supervising authority. A claimed violation may lead to an investigation, warrant, hearing, changed terms, or revocation. It is not a new conviction merely because an agency labels someone an absconder or issues a warrant. The order and final agency action control.

A person arrested in Montague County on a TDCJ blue warrant may remain in the county jail even when a new local charge is dismissed. A blue warrant is a parole or mandatory-supervision enforcement hold. Clearing the local case does not necessarily clear it. Reconcile the jail's hold information with Parole Division status instead of assuming the person must leave when one case closes.

TDCJ publishes a Sex Offender Absconder Information Search for the limited group covered by that program. The Texas DPS registry is also limited to people with a statutory registration duty. Neither is a full list of everyone on parole or probation, and no result does not prove the absence of supervision.

Montague Supervision Discharge Records

Supervision ends through an official discharge, expiration, court action, or another legally recorded outcome. A completed probation term should be confirmed in the court and CSCD trail. A completed parole or mandatory-supervision term belongs in TDCJ records. Release from jail and discharge from a sentence are separate events.

For a reproducible county trail, pair the sheriff release transaction with the judgment or docket entry that states the sentence. The full search and records-request routes for a released person appear on the Montague County released inmates search. Texas Government Code chapter 552 governs public-information requests to agencies, while Montague judicial records follow separate court-access rules.

Confidential, sealed, expunged, juvenile, medical, and protected identifying information may be withheld. Chapter 55A governs expunction, and Government Code chapter 411 addresses nondisclosure. Neither process should be reduced to a claim that every independently held record vanishes at once.

Which Montague Supervision Office?

Montague County's split office route is a key local detail. Probation questions belong with CSCD at the courthouse annex. TDCJ parole and mandatory-supervision questions route to the Wichita Falls district office. TDCJ's county cross-reference expressly makes that assignment.

Ask what legal status appears in the source record before calling. “Released,” “approved for parole,” “on probation,” and “discharged” are not substitutes for one another. If the source only shows that the person is no longer on a custody roster, request the release event and court authority first.

Note: An office directory routes a question but does not reveal or prove one person's current supervision status.

Montague Reentry Services After Release

TDCJ's Reentry Resource Guide includes a Montague County section with named contacts in Bowie and Nocona. It identifies the Helen Farabee Centers location in Bowie and a Carpenter Shop transportation listing in Nocona. Those entries can help a person begin asking about local care and travel needs after release.

The guide is a navigation point, not a guarantee of eligibility, an open appointment, or a ride. Call the listed provider to verify present scope and requirements. Reentry help also does not establish whether the person is on parole or probation. That status remains a matter for TDCJ, the court, or CSCD.

Montague Parole Review Status

Texas parole review is a file process, not a public formal hearing calendar. An Institutional Parole Officer interviews the incarcerated person and prepares a case summary. Members of a three-person panel vote in sequence. Two matching votes decide the case; if the first two differ, the third member breaks the tie. The person receives the result by correspondence, and a denial includes a later review date.

Decision codes must be read from the official vote-options definitions. FI can mean further investigation or approval subject to a stated program or release condition. NR points to the next review after denial. SA means serve all. A suffix may identify a program or month, so merely calling the result “approved” or “denied” can omit a condition that affects physical release.

Person-specific review information is available through TDCJ channels. Call 844-512-0461 before the vote and 512-406-5202 after a favorable decision. Government Code §508.145 sets eligibility rules that vary with offense, date, enhancements, and sentence. Government Code §508.149 addresses mandatory-supervision exclusions. Public arithmetic cannot replace TDCJ Classification and Records.
